How soon after you have been offered a house would you start packing?
Been offered a council place and hoping to see it on Tuesday inside but it looks ok. Dont have a moving in date yet - should i start packing or wait?

Start chucking stuff out. This is an excellent preperation for packing, and you can always tell yourself it's Spring Cleaning if the council place falls through. But I have a good feeling about this - spring is on its way and you'll soon be on the move - good luck!

If you have a lot of stuff, Iwould start ASAP. If you're moving anyway, you can always keep non essential things boced up[ until you go.

I'd start now!!

You can do it one room at a time and it's also a good push to have a clear out, do you really need 50 pairs of shoes??!!

I had a major clear out when we moved and did a car boot sale which made over £100!! Nice little wad to buy a few extras for the new place.

Even if you don't move to this one having a clearout won't hurt and may make you a bit of cash.

Why not pack up all your non essential items, then you will have less to do once the time gets near.

Start now but clearing out, an putting to the charity shops the stuff you dont want or need anymore, then pack all non-essentials like books, dvds, etc. Start to carfully wrap up any ornaments and get them away, so when you finally get a date, you are not rushing around.

Depends how much stuff you have- I would not start packing before I have a move-in date. When you pack already and all is in boxes and then it takes a few weeks more...iiiiihhhh...just inconvenient. You will unpack certain things again anyway. Rather look through your stuff, thow away, file, sort, sell, give away what you dont need etc and be prepared that way and keep your sanity!

It won't take long, leave it until the very last minute.
