How will i know if i can trust a telemarketers call with regards to my home mortgage?

Anyone who call you saying they are from your mortgage company, bank, etc. should never ask you to provide any personal information. If they do ask them for their full name, title, and phone number and hang up. Call the phone number that you already had for the company (the one that is listed in the phone book) and resolve whatever issue someone may have been calling about. Someone who calls you should already have all your personal information in front of them so the second they ask for it you can pretty much guarantee that it is a scam.

Firstly... as every one has stated do not provide your personal information (passcodes etc)
Secondly, you can ask from where he is calling... his related details (desk no etc)... than call back on the number from which he called (only if its a land line number)... you will be confirmed if the reception of ur call is automated and in name of lender of the finance...

If you want to re-fianance or a second mortgage contact www.dotheloan.com, they can help.

telemarketers should leave contact info and you should check them out!!!

i wouldnt trust anyone that rings you as they might just be wanting to get your personal details from u over the phone for there own purposes

I always question where they received there information on my personal financials - whether a phone account or whatever - they have no business in the first place to cold call. It is an invasion of privacy. It really bugs me that they know my phone carrier etc.

smiling_freds_biz_info
Watch out! They may be trying for personal info. Don't fall for it.

NEVER trust anyone willing to invade your privacy by calling you. If you have an issue with your mortgage or anything THAT important, YOU call them.

You can't! So just hang up!

I do run into this every once in a while, when I'm calling leads. My usual course of action is to have them call me back, check our website, or look us up with the BBB. But usually my leads have been verified by the lead company, and they're expecting my call.
