Determine the county property is in, Google the county name along with property appraiser and you should find the correct property appraisers website. It will probably be a .gov.

Agree to terms, find property search, by address, and input the address. Should come right up for ya.

Go to county office and see the person in charge at the deeds office.
They can look this up for you.

Sam
try the front of the white pages, it should have a number for local services and look for abandoned homes.

occupied or not is not relevant; property ownership is listed
at each county recorder's office.

Tax Assessor.

Frank
Ask a realtor to look it up on MLS. If they are not showing it on MLS, it is probably in foreclosure and that means the realtor can probably assist you in getting it for you real cheap. You can also try going to your county, (Suffolk?) and getting the owner's name, then going to anywho.com to look up their phone number to call and ask them. Oh, by the way, there is a house on 112 Ocean Drive that has been vacant for a while ...

If you know someone in the real estate business they can check tax records for you. I live in NJ and I can actually check them on line but I don't know if NY has the same thing

Go to the county assessor's page on the web that the property is in. Do a quick search and type in the address of the property you would like. they are public records! it should give you an address of who owns the property.

Look on the county website under Dept of Revenue. It's probably there, along with tax information.

Starlight
The city revenue department will have the information on file. They will be able to tell you if it is owned by an individual or a company and give you the contact address.
