Mario T | I'm a great real estate consultant. Why do people pick terrible realtors because they charge less? |
With todays market, why would anyone want their property sale handled by someone who is not a professional? |

I have purchase two homes and both of them I found myself and still had to pay for real state fees..It doesn't make sense to me to pay someone that didn't even helped to find the property, just because they have it listed you have to pay them ...and another thing you guys don't do much...you are just the middle man between the seller and the buyer.. escrow does most of the work and you just sit there looking pretty. so if you want to make money charge less and you will probably get more listings ..It makes you look better when you sell more than when you don't because your fees are high..good luck |

Becuse they want more money.
You're not talking $500. You're talking 10,000 to 20,000 or more difference on a $300K house (average in my area.) I think i can grin and bear it and take my $20K to the bank and forget my realtor reminded me of a greasey car salesman. Your buyers almost never meet the realtor face to face, so as long as i'm savvy enough to know the paperwork myself, i'm fine. (I was an agent once so I got this one covered!) |

I am sure its becuz the market is dropping equity so quick that they are scared to hire an agent that charges too much and hire a less expensive and have more $$$$ when they walk out |

You answered this yourself:
Because they charge less!
Better ask what you could do to switch people on to your more expensive service?

Why do people do what they do? Human nature I guess. Being a real estate agent, I wonder sometimes about FSBOs. I also wonder why people will pay up to twice the commission I would charge? Again human nature.
Our office does not charge as high a commission as others, yet we do the same work ( if not better quality) than the others. Until recently business was a bit slow. But with prices dropping and people wanting to make as much as possible on a sale, we are getting more business.
Best of luck to you. |

We are in a Wal Mart society. People want the lowest price and they want quality. Can you deliver both? Watch out for Wal-Mart Real Estate company coming to a town near you. |

Why do people go to Wall-mart?
That and most people wouldn't know a good realtor from a bad!
Kinda like politicians |

Because you are not as great as you think you are. |

there is no reason to pay 6 or 7 % to sell a house There are excellent real estate brokers willing to provide full service ,yet charge less than the" fixed price on old fashion real estate companies" , with computers now days agents can be more productive, do more ,work for less and come out ahead financially,
by the way you are in violation of Realtor rules by bad mouthing other realtors, you could lose your membership,ck the rules |

People probably do not see the value of listing their houses with you. I would work on my presentation skills (from being well groomed to knowing what to say). Go to mikeferry.com. The website has some great tools for Realtors. Best of luck to you. |

People are not educated properly by the realtor as to the value of the realtor's service. We are paid for our knowledge and our expertise in doing our job in a professional manner. ...not for being chauffeurs and schlepping clients, or putting a sign in the ground and waiting for a buyer. When a potential client understands that we are professionals... as is an attorney, doctor etc., they seem to always make the right choice. You get what you pay for.... the same holds true with realtors. Go to WalMart...no service...you're on your own baby. Go to a professional and you get service, knowledge, a job well done and a satisfied client who is happy to refer you to everyone they know. |

I will preface my answer by disclosing the fact that I am a licensed Realtor® in the state of Arizona.
Your guess is as good as mine. For that matter why would anyone do a FSBO?
However there are some agents out there that will cut their price and by dumb luck get the client's home sold.
Keep on keeping on !!! |
