There are some great areas in and around Manchester also some with bad rep.Some good ones include Shaw..Cromton,Saddleworth(not that far from Halifax)and many others check out Estate Agents they will put you in picture. |

Depends really on how much you want to pay. The city centre has become really nice in the last few years. You can get quite a nice apartment for 150K. Avoid north Manchester if you are not keen on rough.
I used to live in Altrincham anywhere in that area is nice. Basically Trafford borough is nice and the council tax is cheap.
Ignore what people say about Manchester. Years ago friends were students there and when I visited I hated it. Later on my partner's job moved him there and I was pleasantly surprised. It is not the same place as in the 90s. It's better than London for shopping. |
