Our corporate office has assigned 3 units to be our specials for the week and if you sign a one year lease on the day of your move in you will recieve a free Iphone but the problem is that not everyone has at&t service and to be quite honest there are better things we could give away besides free Iphones and free rent for a month but what? Please help

um... free rent is best... but perhaps giving away $300 worth of groceries (on a gift card) instead of a $300 phone... or better yet, just a prepaid visa... you can't go wrong with that, it is something everyone will use.

I'd love a prepaid Visa card. If could be used to buy things for the new apartment, including grocerys.

How about $300 in gas cards

dixietigergirl
I'll move in for an Iphone. Haha.

Free rent, prepaid visa cards, gas cards (everyone can use those), or offer to pay the bills (electric, water, etc) for the first and second months.

I think the prepaid visa card is your best option though. Since they can use it for anything.

I know of a gift program, the gifts range form $25 to $750. Depending on the budget the gifts can be fit to better suit your clients. From men to single parents with teenagers and everyone else that you can think of. It's a very reputable company gift program. We run specials on some of the albums, like buy four and get the fifth one free.
It gives your clients the chance to think of how they got such an awesome gift up to four times. When you give it, when they pick there own item, when they order it and again when they receive it at their door. If you are interested in more info about this program please feel free to contact me at danielleyadon@yahoo.com.

Think realistic items people could use when they first move in. A nice basket with area coupons, free phone cards, Post office change of address forms, things of that nature.

Dixietigergirl is right. I would not give away free iPhones, you'll end up with all sorts trying to move in to get the phone and then once they get it moving out or what not. You'll want to give people something they can use when they first move in. Coupons to neighborhood restaurants. Go to your local restaurants and speak with the restaurant manager see what kind of discounts they will offer you if you promise to promote their particular restaurant to your new tenants. Some times they will work with you in giving you a buy one get one meal free coupon to use or kids eat free etc, or one free meal. Explain to them that advertising is expensive and you are offering free advertising to them. Collect menus from the restaurants to offer new move ins. You'll want to provide them with items they can use not an item they will have to spend money on i.e. phone service.

Usually one month free on a 13 month contract will work, or two months free, everyone likes free rent. When I bought my town home, the sales office worked with a woman to make Rum Cakes for all new home buyers. I received a rum cake on a beautiful glass cake stand I thought it was a fantastic house warming gift and I'd always wanted a cake stand. A nice gift basket that has an assortment of cookies, coffee etc. Or a cookie gift basket. But then other tenants that move in other units might expect that also. So your best bet would be free rent on those units only.

gift cards are always the way to go
