I Need to Pay My Rent by the 5th, I don't get paid till July 15th, I'm thinking about getting a title loan.
Is it possible to get a 30 or 60 day interest free loan from a title loan company? I just need to make it to the July 15th payday and I will be able to pay it back. I need to get 1400.00 from them. I just started a new job and my credit score is low ( I know this is not good and I am trying to get better). Let me know the ins and outs and the ways to let the title loan company's work for my benefit. The loan will be paid back in 30 days max. I normally would never consider this but I don't want to loose my apartment or run a risk of defaulting on my lease it costs 2400.00 if I break my lease( I have never had a late payment in two years). Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Have you actually asked your landlord about delaying payment for ten days? He might be willing to -- possibly for an additional "late payment". Most leases allow you some period to "Catch up" also.

Just say no!
Why not just talk to the leasing manager and tell them your situation. How much will the late fees be for paying 10 days late? Compare that to the fees for a short term high interest loan. At least that way you will be making an informed decision. I'd say pay the late fees--if you have good history with them it shouldn't be a problem this one time.

Interest-free? LOL You're kidding, right? I assume you mean title to your car. Do you have a couple thousand equity in it?

Approach your landlord now and level with them about the tight spot you are in. HE might let you slide 10 days without penalty if HE holds your title.

I worked at a title loan company, and trust me the interest rates are high...no matter how fast you pay it off. If you have never had a late payment in the last two years in the apartment that your staying at they should be able to understand. you should try going to management and explain your situation....a late fee of $200 (or whatever the amount is) is better than borrowing from a title loan company.

paying 10 days late is not the end of the world. i'd just do that. I had a roomate that always paid his half almost a month late.

If you talk to the owner of the apartments and tell them that you can't pay until the 15th they will let you. When I did that one time, they gave me a paper to sign saying that if I don't pay by that date then I risk being evicted, which is fine because I knew I could pay it then. It doesn't matter really to the apartments because it's only 10 days late and they should let you do that. It's much better and easier than getting a loan. You should try that first. =]

EDIT: Oh and they didn't make me pay any late fees since I went and talked to them and made a payment plan.

The fees they will charge you is terrible. If you have been there for two years and were never late, I would suggest you contact the manager or owner and explain your circumstances - maybe give them a postdated check. Your lease probably provides a late payment penalty and it will probably be less than the fees a title loan or payday loan company would charge. Moneytree charges equivelant of 430% interest!
Any reasonable landlord would work with you as you have a good history there. Good luck.

Risky! Try borrowing from family and friends first.
