Seriously now, what do you think a guarantor is for?? She could not qualify in her own right so the landlord required someone with acceptable credit to GUARANTEE payment of the rent.

Yes, you will have to pay. However, I'd call the leasing company and explain the situation to them. Then, take actions to terminate the lease and force her eviction.
Sounds harsh, doesn't it? But it may be your only recourse if you refuse to pay. |

Have you discussed with her why she's not paying?
Can she just not afford to pay, or was she planning on you paying it anyway because your the guarantor?
Speak to the letting company and find out their side.
If you don't bail her out, where will she live?

Of course you will. That's the whole point in being a guarantor. You promised to pay if your daughter didn't. Now she isn't paying. The owner/landlord will legally look to you, because you promised to pay. |

Yes, when I rented from a college rental, my parents had to sign as a guarantor also so that if anything happened where I did not pay, they would have to. The best is to see if you can get the lease terminated so that your daughter has to fine a new place and don't cosign anything for her. |
