We lost our house on sep due to an irresponsable landlord, he didn't pay the mortgage for 8 months and we didn't know about it, so we got kicked out on the streets with only a couple of days to decide what to do, then we found a place and moved into it, by the way i have 4 kids and a husband, anyway we moved and we have been living here for 4 months and now my husband lost his job, we made arrangments with the landlord to pay on the 15th, and pay late fees and stuff, but then i just got an email from her and she decides that we need to move out by the 15th instead, still we have to pay her but we have to be out, and i don't know if that is even legal but we have no money, no place to go, 4 kids no job and my husband works in construction and there is nobody hiring, we also had our van repo and we have a car that broke down, so also no transportation....i don't know what to do, we can't get a loan our credit is not the best, what to do? we are in the tampa fl, area if anybody can give me advice or maybe anybody that can work with us on a loan, this is really a desperate situation. thank you so much!

I understand you're desperation. You know both of you need jobs, the issue is the right now, and jobs don't pay you right away. I don't think that they do but, did your husband have a 401k if, yes he can borrow for that in the meantime, until you can get work. The landlord can kick you out after going through proper eviction procedures, especially if you did not get your agreement in writing. If she has not obtained proper eviction papers, then I would stay and look for jobs. If hubby is laid off, then you need to go and find whatever you can get, and he can stay w/the kids. Is there family you can stay with once you are truly evicted? I would see about doing that, and saving money while you are there. I have 5 kids and everyone thinks well you had them you should always have the financial means to take care of it all. Times are tough right now and sometimes you just feel like you keep getting pushed down. I will tell you that my husband and I were in the same spot 4 years ago. We now own a house, are gainfully employed, have new cars. You can do it too. Follow some of my advice, that's what we did. I wish you well!! Good Luck, and stay strong for your babies. |

You can't be evicted without a court order first. |

It takes a while to evict -- so stay there until you have paperwork etc...
You or your husband need to get a job -- there are a lot of jobs that don't require any experience.

There really is a lot of wisdom in saving for a rainy day so that you're not caught out like this.
Go talk with your bank. They usually give financial advice for free. In the meantime, take any part-time jobs going or file for unemployment payouts. |

Sorry but I can't help you with a loan but I found some websites that might help provide you with some much needed information. One is a website to find lawyers in your area.
The 2nd one is to a link to the Tampa Housing Authority which you can probably trust. Maybe they can help you find affordable housing.
Also, look and find a job. Any job that can help tide you over. You need to find employment fast which will not be easy but something you must do and do it now. Your husband can do other things than construstion. And if he can't find work, then you should. Fast food anything to start making money.

Without a job...no one will give you a loan.
You need to get in touch with your local Social Services Dept. and seek emergency assistance....however, with your husband capable of working..yet not...you may not be eligible for any assistance. |

First, the landlord must go through legal proceedings to evict you. Check with your state's attorney general's office to find out what your rights are in this case.
Unluckily, with no income, I doubt anyone will be able to provide a loan. You might try some of the local charities to see if they have any emergency funds to get your car fixed so either you or your husband can find a job. |

You and/or your husband need a job ASAP. Loans will only drive you further into a hole, so put the shovel down. Get a job doing anything you can. There are shelters that will help you until you get back on your feet.

Where would you get the idea that her wanting rent to be paid might not be legal? hello!!! any body home?! Not paying the rent is illegal, collecting it is perfectly legal.
You have 2 grown adults. Even at minimum wage jobs you can house your family if you see fit. Apparently you do not.
If you want a loan you will need to ask your family and friends. Surely they know that you are decent and honest people. No one else will think so, you will not get a loan from someone who does not personally know you.
If the people who know you will not lend you money you can contact the Salvation Army about their homeless shelter.
With you not working you will not qualify for any of the government housing programs. |
