Clean it good and if you broke anything - like a hole in a door something - like that try to patch it up yourself. Take pictures of the condition you left the apartment. |

For the protection of both parties there should ALWAYS be a Move-In/Move-Out Inspection Report done at both ends of the rental period.
Here is one to use as a guide: http://www.ilrg.com/forms/rental-checklist.html
Use something similar and do a mutual walk-through and both sign it after all your stuff is out. |

make sure everything is clean and no spots on carpets or pee stains from cats or dogs....they check that with black lights....clean the stove, fridge, wipe out cabinets....but u know something, as much as u clean they always seem to find something....sometimes its not worth it |

Look them up on a site like apartmentratings.com. If past tenants say they've been fair, or close to it, in other reviews, do your best to get it cleaned up and fixed.
If you took pictures before moving in, all the better. That's leverage.
But if you didn't take pictures, and they're a complex that tends to "find" things wrong, you probably won't get much back. I have lived in a few of these. My advice in that situation is to just walk away. Make them earn the money they're going to take anyway, and spend the time taking pictures of your new place before you move in, and prepping for the move.
You'll appreciate the extra energy you've saved from not cleaning when you're trying to unpack your stuff in the new place. |

make sure you clean it and try to fix anything that you may have broken to keep your full deposit. Gather up your friends to help you move. Buy them beer and food that is what I did and the move went smoothly. I also rented a cargo van from Enterprise Rent A Car instead of a moving truck that had a mileage and time restriction. That way I did not have to rush my friends and we took as many trips as we needed not having to worry about the miles we put on it. I also took out the additional protection on the van since I only had it for 24 hours I was glad because I ran into a pole and didn't have to pay for the damages to be repaired. |

Don't move until your lease is up. Getting your water lights and down payment on your new place is going to be enough not to mention all the other things you will need to do .. |

Hi
take photos of the state of the place BEFORE you move your stuff in. That way you will not have to pay it out of your deposit when you move out.
Contact the Utilities and inform them of the DAY you move in, so you won't have to pay for any utilities that were used before you moved in. |

Make sure your lease is up and make sure that you get all your deposits back that you had to put down, like when you moved inot your apartment then your lights and water deposits too. |
