babiefox1 | I am selling my house privately, do I need an attorney for the seller disclosure agreement or just closing? |
One of the potential buyers has requested a copy of the seller disclosure document, I have downloaded the one for our state, but do I need an attorney for that, or do I just take it to closing with me for attorney to document? |

You don't need an attorny to fill out the disclosure statement. I would make sure you check with your state laws to see if there is anything else you need to give the buyer (such as a lead brochure etc). If you read up on the topic (or have previously sold a home before) you shouldn't need a lawyer as long as you read and understand what you are signing. Good luck! |

I'd recommend that you use an attorney to help you out with the documents -- you're saving 3 or more percent by not using a broker, dont make some kind of a mistake that could cost you more. |

Hire an Attorney.... the world is filled with people who should have done it. As the seller it should not cost that much. Many states have done away with attorneys for closings and the Realtor & Escrow Agent handle it. Since yours is a private sale, pay the few hundred. |

I am thinking that you probably do need one. The government has complicated everthing so much it is next to impossible to sell real estate without a lawyers help |

Use an attorney for any legal agreeement involving real estate. This is not an area where you want trouble later. |

In Ontario you will require a Solicitor. |

You don't have to have one but I wouldn't do a real estate transaction with out one just to make sure you dotted all your I's and crossed all your T's. |

You dont have to have an attorney, if they have one he will go over the disclosure. It will also be read by the closing officials. It is good for you to have your own attorney in a private sale though, but if you are on a budget- just make sure you pay close attention. |

attorney is recommended if you don't want any future problems but my friends has done it with out and she has had no problem. it also depends on them too. |
