Juan C. | I don't work and have no means of income, can i get Section 8? Who will pay for the full price of rent? |
I can't pay because I don't have no means of income whatsoever, I don't collect unemployment, don't have welfare or nothing. Additional Details I can't get a job because I go to school full-time. |

You will not qualify. You HAVE to work and have children, or be disabled. Also you can not be a student. Section 8 is not student housing.
You can pay for your housing with student loans. |

No, you can't get housing for free. And even if you did, I would be paying for it with my taxes. You are going to have to use all of your energy and resources to get a job--any job |

dude, do you have kids that live with you? if not, you'll probably have a harder time to get section8. even if they did pay for your rent, how would you pay your electricity? trash? sewer? water? food? Seriously, man up and get a job. any job! also, all of us who do work, will be paying your rent. You're so lazy, you don't even call the section 8 people to find out the qualifications yourself, what do you do with your day? |

Section 8 is for low income, not NO income. You have to have some kind of disability or other reason that you cannot work in order to qualify.
EDIT: Section 8 is for disabled and disadvantaged- not college kids. You should be getting some kind of financial aid for that. Besides there are lots of people that go to school full time and still work.
I'm not trying to be rude- but those are the standards. |

Section 8 is for low-income FAMILIES, not slackers who won't work. Get a job, and go to school AFTER work, or move back home with mommy and daddy. |

Many people go to school full time and work full time. I did, my daughter did, and does. You just have to want it and not try to take the easy way out. Work and earn what you need. |

Um k before my son i used to work full time and go to school full time. Im not sure how hard your classes are though so I should probably be quiet since I dont know.
Anyways the federal government pays for the HUD (section 8) program. One thing though is you have to wait until there is an opening and then apply and wait. Depending on the wait it can be a really long time. Like I live in California and the wait would be 3-7 years.
In the meantime, if you call 2-1-1 they can tell you where you can find a shelter, food, gas cards/bus passes, clothes, etc |

Section 8 is not for students. If for working families or people on disability. |

Wow people. I'm a student and mom of 3 kids. Please don't ask me where the dad is because its private and painful. How do I work and pay daycare and go to school to better our future? I can't do all of those things so yes section 8 should be for those who are TRYING not just sitting around collecting welfare |
