He probably had you as a second in case the first didnt come through. It sucks and he shouldve been more honest with you! Anyway, no love lost here, you dont want a freakin irresponsible scrub as your landlord anyway! I bet you had to pay for an application fee too, right? Those situations suck and I dont stand for them! I have had luck where landlords dont do applications, or credit checks and all that..... I avoid that as you waste yoru money on those apps and there are no guarantees that they will rent to you! Its all BLLSHT! |

I agree he probably did not want to rent to you.
Perhaps this other renter had better credit and/or a better rent history.
If you put one down, he should refund your deposit. If you didn't, you've really not been cheated out of anything. |

It sounds like he didn't want to rent to you. Maybe the other party offered to pay more rent per month. I wouldn't take it personally. Maybe this happened because there's a better place for you but if you'd signed the lease, you wouldn't have found it. |
