Yes. Do not make any major purchases before you close on the home. Do not apply for a bunch of credit cards either. I have seen people get preapproved and then go buy a car while they are looking for the home. Now they still have preapproval but for a lower loan amount. He couldn't close on the home he picked. |

Very likely. Whatever you do, though, don't make any (large) purchases on credit while you are in escrow with the property you are buying. Your lender may pull your approval, or fail to give final approval due to a change in your credit history. |
