I have a feeling my landlord is entering my property when I'm at work. ?
I have no proof but a few things have strangely gone missing. I wondered if any one had any commonsense ways or traps I could subtely set near the front door or even on the door knob to see if I am right.

buy/borrow a nanny cam, then you have proof, any other way youll be no further than you are today.....if you want to stop it, you need proof......

you can put a hidden camera if you want, that is the most convenient way i think you can monitor the things happening in your place.

Or you could place a something like a piece of paper on the door knob that falls down when you open the door.

Borrow a friend's video camera and set it on motion detector.

A man made the news about a year ago who was a landlord and his tenant put him in prison.

I have seen people that have put a scrap of paper in the door and seen if it fell when someone opened it. Try that if you have another entrance. Or try a security system they are not that expensive.

yes, you are right you are one of those girl that things that i am right..............

Sprinkle baking powder on the floor in front of the doors.

Why don't you just talk to the landlord and point out that you pay for the space, and have a right to the private enjoyment of the space, according to the law?

borrow someone's video camera and hide it, and have it facing the door. to stop this, you need proof. keep in mind though that you cannot do anything to barr the landlord from access as in the case of an emergency (ie gas leak, water leak, fire, etc) he must be able to get in if you aren't there. this means no latches, changing the locks, etc. that does not give him the right to enter in non-emergency situations and it certainly doesn't give him the right to steal your stuff.

Mel
Buy one of those latches you can put over the front door. That way they can't get it.

Seeing as it's Christmas get a motion sensored Santa or something and set it up by the door, this will sure startle them when they enter the house and it may deter them as the noise could alert the neighbours.

I have this same problem. Instead of the paper thing, I think I will try... maybe putting like a pencil or something behind the door. If at that time I notice that, hey, someone was here, I will definitely be purchasing a nanny cam.
