whether you rang her and got through, it wouldnt matter ,you cant move out without serving WRITTEN notice from the rent due date. Send it recorded delivery so she has to sign it, and ask for a reciept. once you have this, then think of moving out.

You have to put your notice in writing, do you have a contract, what does in say in that contract about giving notice? If you do not have one then you are not bound by anything, either of you. |

It needs to be in writing anyway, so post her a letter recorded delivery. That way she cannot claim that she never received it. You can send it so it gets there by noon the next day.
Also get an itemised phone bill so that you can prove, if you need to, that you really have tried to call her that many times and received no response. It's unacceptable really - what if there'd been an emergency at the property and she was uncontactable? |

When you want to give notice to a landlord that you are moving, it must be in writing and it must be 30 days. If might be 60 days in some leases. Send it certified so you get a return receipt. If she doesn't sigh for it, hold on to it when it's returned to you. You'll need it if she tries to sue you in court. |
