you can find low income housing in your area on the web, but you will have to go to the actual offices to fill out paperwork.

First your ask for a handout, and then you say you're not looking for a handout.
If you need help, go to your church, salvation army, food pantry - et al -
Where is the father of these children, and why are you not both working so that you can afford what you are looking for? Perhaps there is a crisis (your home burned down) which leaves you in this shape (which is why you should have renter's or homeowners insurance). |

Go to your local town, city or village office. Explain your situation to them and they will tell you what programs they have that can assist you. They can also tell you if you qualify for any federal aid.
Please make sure you follow any career/education advice/programs they give you. That will be the only way you will get yourself out of this cycle. |

Go to your local DHS office for food assistance and check out the Salvation Army, Goodwill, and United Way and local churches....THe Salvation provides utility assistance and so do some churches. Also at the Salvation Army you can get groceries and free bread almost every day. I've worked with a lot of people down and out and these resources are very helpful...THe downside is if you live in a very small town you don't have as many of these types of help but in big cities they are quite common.
As far as doing from home on the internet good luck cause it's not really out there...Understand that a lot of people who need the help you do can't use computers, don't have one, and probably don't even have a phone line for dial up because they are too poor. You have to go in person. Best of luck and look hard because you'll be rewarded!! |

Did you tryed Catholic charities, try www.food & meal assistance.com. Also try with your church. I am sure there is a lot of people who will be happy to help you. In what state you live in. Different state have different rules. |

It is not a crime to need help. And it's not a crime to ask for help either. You need to go to see your city's family services department.
They willl be able to get you a place to live and help with the rest.
I've seen Mom's take off and abandon their kids when hard times hit. Being there as a Mom for your children is far, far more important. Also remember this above anything else: nobody expects you to be perfect. |

Go to Craigslist.com. They frequently have give away stuff. Also...contact your county for the nearest local food shelf.

There is no website that can offer such services. What I strongly recommend is that you make contact with the department of human services in you area. From there you can apply for emergency food assistance. A caseworker will be assigned to you and your family. From there a database of social service agencies who donate clothing,furniture will be at your disposable. Also check with the local churches to check for emergency housing. God Bless |
