I just got an application for an apartment and it says " how many persons are in your household?
Are they asking how many people are in my house at the moment or are they asking how many people will be living in this new apartment that i have the application for?

What do you think they mean? Why on earth would they care how many you live with now?

They want to know how many will be living there.

zippythejessi
More than likely how many will be living in the new place - but some do ask for current info. Double check with the landlord of the new place for sure.

Cat

They want to know how many people will be living in your new apartment. If you have a wife and 2 kids...you would have 4 people in your household. If you have people living with you now, that won't be living in the new apartment...then they really have no business or need to know that information.

Steve
The apartment you are applying for

yeah, that is what they are asking. they wanna know so they can determine whether or not the apartment will have enough space for you. ex. a studio= 1 to 2 adults

lorijotx
How many will be in the apartment.

They need to know how many people will be living in the apartment. This information is needed for a number of reasons. The number, in some cases is used to calculate the amount of rent (IE if utilities are included). I leased a condo (usually to a couple), but would always have a list of who would actually be living there as I paid the utilities, and there was limited parking. My budget was based on 2 adults and one child's consumption of electricity. I would probably had to raise the rent if more people were living there. Also I had covenants to adhere to. I couldn't have a large family living in this two bedroom condo.
Sometimes this information is required by the landlord's insurance company.
