First thing I would do is contact the landlord. Explain to them what happened and that you are willing to pay a penalty if you are late with the rent. It is better to give them a heads up warning, that way it is easier for them to cut you slack.
If they are absolutely not willing to help, then you know at least where you stand (on the street ha ha)...
No seriously, if they give you an eviction notice, you do have a period of time to evacuate, which is different in every state, could be 48 hours, could be 1 week.
After you have done that, see what other bills you have and for example, if you have a car payment, phone your car company (not the dealership) and tell them what happened and if you could skip a payment. Almost all companies will allow it if you call them. If you take care of all of these you could essentially be buying yourself an entire month of time.
That should give you enough time to find another job, decide if you have to move for the new job etc...
Do not PAWN or get a Payday Loan, this will be much more expensive than asking for a delay from your bill payees. For example a $100 electical bill will cost you maybe $2 if you are late 1 month instead of a payday loan of $50 for a month of fees.
Finally, revamp your budget, as you should have enough money left over after every payday to put something aside for rainy days like this, even if its $25 or $50. Stash that cash and let it accumulate until you have enough to cover 6 months of bills. That should be your insurance should emergencies arise like job loss or if you are unable to work for whatever reason.

First thing is go talk to your apartment manager and let them know you will be late with the payment. This will show them that you are an upfront and honest person, and will make it easier for them to work with you. |

I dont know about in your start but you could go to Red Cross or United Way and they will give you referrals as to where you need to go to get rental assistance but you have to have an eviction notice. And try churches and ministries they help with things like this also. I know you dont need to here how you need to get a job because you need the money right now so this is all I can tell you. You need to try these ministries early in the morning because the Holidays are coming and they are going t o be getting a lot of calls so start now. I pray to God that you get what you need. I know how you feel about that. Just keep the faith in the Lord and he will see you through it |
