You should go to the county offices and seek financial assistance. Even if it's just this one time. Don't wait until you are in real trouble and forced to leave your home.
Second, you might consider a cleaning service job at night, cleaning offices. It pays pretty well. A couple of hours each night could help you and your daughter live alone and not dependent on someone else. Good luck! HUGS |

Your best bet is going to be to try and contact different public offices where you live. You can try contacting the public assistance office, or different churches. The best ones to search for are the Salvation Army and Catholic Family Charities.
You can also try contacting your landlord, or even different apartment communites in your area to see who they would refer their clients to if they need help paying rent in your area.
My best advice is to be up front with your landlord and let them know what is going on. Due to the situation they may be willing to work with you, you never know until you try. Good luck! |

if you aren't working or are on low income then go to your nearest county's neighborhood center and be the first one in line (I think you have to be there around 7AM)...call the day before to be sure or drive by there and check their hours as it will say on the door. Go and apply for one month's rent. If they do it for you (and usually they do for one month only per year and if you're really stuck) then that will give you a little extension of time in which you can look for another place, save your stuff, move to your reltives' home. Although a check will take 4-6 weeks to process, if they give you the promise on paper to pay usually an apartment complex will extend the time that your money is due knowing they will get paid. And then you make copies of that form from the county (their approval) and hand that to the sheriff if he should come calling to remove you from your apartment in 3 days after the money is due. In the meantime call all your relatives and ask for help till you can get re-started. And next time get yourself a one-bedroom where you don't have to depend on someone else to pay part of your rent. And then take two jobs if you have to or one of them on the net so that only you and your daughter can live together.
In addition you can ask your church, some churches will help out with one month's rent. Others like St. Vincent de Paul might just provide assistance to get restarted. Maybe the county could help too...have a relative watch your child while you get done what you need to without interruption. |

I would check your state's Landlord and Tenant's rights. Many times you can not be evicted without 30 days written notice.
I would also check with your local church or pastor and see what help they can offer. Also, consider a nighttime job that will pay you weekly. Or consider taking on a babysitting job in the evening for someone who needs it for a few hours each evening.
