I didn't catch the problem with the home inspection. The home inspector only noted that there was some condensation on the unit, and that the drain needed cleaning. About 2 weeks after we closed, an A/C contractor came to clean it. He opened it up and showed me how corroded and disintegrated some of the parts were inside. He said it had been serviced for the same problem before in the past. He also revealed to me (in an invoice) that he recommended to previous owner in 2005 to replace the A/C (it's a 1960's unit). I wasn't told any of this during the 30 day escrow. Home warranty is only willing to cover $1500 out of the $4100 it will cost to do a replacement. I feel like I wasn't given complete and honest information here. I would have thought twice about buying this condo had I known all this. What are my rights here, if any?
