Talk to him about a pet deposit. This ensures that if there is any damage the pet deposit will cover it....

just ask him again. go to him with a plan and tell him the dog will by supervised at all times or in a crate. but im more worried about the dog AFTER u get it... first of all, how old are you? do u know where ur going next? can u guarantee the dog will be able to stay with u 100% for the rest of its life or is it gonna end up in the shelter... because even if this landlord says yes, its close to IMPOSSIBLE to find another landlord that allows dogs whenever u move out

**dont get it if landlord says no. i know someone who tried to "hide" their dog.. which worked for a little bit... then of course, he found out and they were evicted... still made to pay the remaining rent bc it broke their lease.

If your landlord does not want dogs, you're not going to convince him to allow you to have one. Dogs (especially puppies, until older) cause damages to the landlord's property. Are you willing to cough up the money up front for any possible damage this puppy causes, including chewing on woodwork, urinating on carpets, etc. ?

These damages can run into the thousands of dollars. If you have that amount of cash laying around, you MIGHT convince him to allow one.

If the landlord says no, then the answer is no. Not your house, not your decision.

If in fact the lease says NO than You either work on moving or you are out of luck
Ever heard that old saying that your wants will not hurt you?
Means that Just cause you want something well that will not hurt you.
Grow up be responsible and start looking into moving into a pet friendly place when your lease is up next time.

In all honesty If you go get a dog without him putting int into the lease he can still in fact later and make you get rid of the dog why put a puppy through that?

if you really want to be around a dog go volunteer at the shelter helping out
That is what I done until I was able to move and have a dog.
It is however hard work and not all fun and play you have to clean up and feed etc
They can always use help most all rescues and shelters will take volunteer help

i just got a puppy two months ago and my house is torn apart. you might wanna rethink living where you are. OR, have a special check put out to the landlord each month stating that that money goes to pet damage.

I'd say a pet deposit is the best way to go, because it gives your landlord the idea that you're ready to accept the commitment of having a dog.

wendy b
talk to the landlord bout putting down deposits or get over it if he says no. then you can always move to somewhere that will let you have pets.

Steph
my parents just bought the dog, and when landlord did find out, they told her hte truth abou her ?'s. and we still live here in our house. haha, so she didnt have a problem with it. but since you already asked, i would jut keep asking, and reasure her that there will be nothing to worry about that the house wont be ruined or anything of the sort,
hope this helps.

tell him that puppies are cute

Say you'll get one that's quiet, you'll pottytrain and clean up after it well, and you'll get it vaccinated and flea medicated. Suggest he inspect to make sure of this if he wishes.
YOU SHOULD ADOPT FROM A POUND
those dogs really need homes and you'd be helping them out a lot. You could find a puppy, but theres a lot of adult dogs who you could really give a good life and really need you!!! Everyone adopts the puppies, but the dogs don't usually get adopted and are usually stuck in there FOR LIFE! Think about that. It's like jail to a dog, except they didn't do anything wrong (sob!)

jody
i feel ur pain i wanna a puppy too

tell your land lord that this dog means a lot to you and you will sware to take care of it and that ok this is a little,, little kiddish but a dog does teach responcibility that can make you wiser to future desisions
