You make as good of money as the amount of houses you sell and the commissions you get. It's all up to the salesperson.
I do believe you get started by taking the classses and getting your license. |

It's 100% commision based and VERY hard to get started. I did it and did make a sale but it broke even. You'll invest $100's in MLS fees, license fees, branch fees, etc, before you ever get the chance to make a sale. |

You don't make anything in the first months.
You have expenses in the first months.
You make what you put into it.. of yourself.
Century 21 offers a "dual career" option in case you need to have a regular job to support yourself in the beginning. |

Just remember that anything in sales has their ups and downs throughout the year. Because the market value is down so low right now, not many agents are making very good money right now. When it goes back up, they will probably be making excellent dough. You might just make sure you have another source of income for when you can't sell anything. |

Being an agent is a career not a job. If you are looking to build your own business and appreciate the real estate market it can be very rewarding.
However, the market has been flooded with every Tom Dick and Harry wanting to take advantage of the hot market....and then they are in dry dock when the market turns.
There are multiple ways to make money in real estate and if you are committed to working both buyers and seller markets you will manage to build a nice buinsess. It is not an overnight success.
I write a blog on the subject of credit management, mortgages, real estate trends, etc. Check it out for more information that may be helpful. |

It's all about work. They make commissions, so the ones that work harder, make more. On average, it takes about a year before you can really make steady money. If you don't have the time to invest, aren't a go getter, and live in an economically repressed area, don't bother. |

The basic pay is 'basic' but the commission can be quite good depending on the amount of properties you sell. |

I'm just starting out in Real Estate and so far it hasn't been easy. You really have to sell yourself to let people know you're in Real Estate. It's all about commission! You can get started by contacting some Real Estate schools in your area. |

Hi, you can make good money in Real-Estate depending on your area, and if you can get out and make new contacts (clients). For most Realtors, you are paid a commission only. Be prepared to put out around $2000 to get started, with additional savings as backup for dry periods. In most states you must complete 60 hours of classroom training in General Real Estate Practice and Laws. Look in your phone book for 'Real Estate Trainers, or Real Estate Schools. You could also just ask the broker of a company you may consider hanging your license with. You must pass two parts of the exam, General Real Estate Practices and State Laws governing real estate. You may also ask you states Real Estate Commission to send you an information packet. Best of Luck! |

They can make great money, but to do so you have to work REALLY hard. Especially in the first 90 days. You must do the work normally done in a year. You should get your real estate license first. Next, go to a neighboring town and find the largest producing realtor and ask them if you can shadow them for a day or two in exchange for buying them lunch on both days. You need to learn skill of sales, marketing and organization from a true winner, not just a book. |

Go to one of your major real estate companies like Long and Foster any company in your state. They will have classes and test that you need to pass in order to become a realtor in you jurisdication. They make a percentage of the property that they sold. They make good money. |
