"I want to by a house" Stupid typo... Next time I toss up a question I have to remember to have my cup of coffee.

Thanks for all the great answers. With the exception of that moron who mentioned monopoly, you've all been great. I appreciate it.

your very first step is to get pre-qualified to buy as that will set your limits as to just how high you can go on a sale. Then with down payments and closing cost in the bank you get a Realtor to show you homes in your price range and then make the big choice in a home for your future
I am a mortgage banker in TN & KY

Answer Me!!!
It is a buyers market...

I would get pre-approved for a mortgage by either going to a realtor or a bank to find out your price range and what you would need as a down payment to close a mortgage.

Then, using your price range you can find a couple of houses to schedule visits to with your sales rep.

Find the right one, submit an offer, and wait by the phone.

Make sure you have a home inspection done before signing anything.

its the best timer everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. i bought 5 yrs ago and while i have a good deal and low rate , homes are dirt cheap now and good new homes, not shacks.

must have decent credit if excellent than thats better, great job and pay and if youve been there along time helps.

have fun and gl you wont regret it.

First get preapproved for a loan. You have to have steady income...a steady job and be prepared to show income tax records to the mortgage company. Look around the neighborhood you are interested in. Call a Real Estate Agent and make an appointment to view homes. Find a home you like and put a bid in. ( always lower than asking price )Wait for owner to reply. If both parties are in agreement, have an inspector come out to inspect the home. If all is well, sign purchase agreement and move in.

Rune Boy!
look for a real estate agent. they will help you get a house and they will stand by ur side for as long as u choose your house.
hope that helps

i believe that you can start by going to a loan office if you don't have the money, and then they can helps you. second, go and look for the house that you may see interesting, so you don`t have to pay too much!!

good luck!!

I would start by visiting a mortgage broker to get pre-qualifiedd for a loan and to find out exactly what you can afford. Then I would take that information to areal estatee agent and tell them what you are looking for in a potential new home.

Pick up a book or two on home buying for first timers - there are several good ones. Educating yourself first is the best thing you can do.

bn
First, you should fo to Realtor.com and then you should get a realtor to show you houses. Good luck!!
