I'll do my best to understand the question and answer it for you. Since this is under the Renting and Real Estate section, here's how I see it:
People work to earn money. When a person or a business owns real estate, he, she or it is entitled to earn a fair return on the investment. After all the bills are paid, this means making a profit.
If you work and earn money, you want a fair wage for the work you do, don't you? Of course you do.
Its the same for those ladies and gentlemen who own real esatate. They buy property and rent it
1) to those folks who don't want to have their own home OR
2) for one reason or another, they rent their properties to those who aren't able to own their own home.
IF you think a house is priced too high, you should look for and possibly find another property to rent.

I am understanding the question to say why could it cost 1200.00 and be built in the year 2000 if that is the case the only reason i can think of is it is a tax sales property that is being sold for the amount of the unpaid property taxes on it. |

My best guess... mobile home. They cost about $60k new (depends on where it is and who is making it). If there is a lot of damage to it and it costs 40k to make it livable again (think water damage) then it wouldn't cost much to buy because of the repairs. Plus the land might be rented.
Or that's a typo.
To clear something up... foreclosures will not go for under what a bank is owed on a house. So if the people bought it for $200k it can not sell it for $150k. |
