Don't lose hope if you're looking to buy a home. There are so many different ways to fund a home now, just about anyone with any kind of credit can get into a home, regardless of credit situation.
Of course, some will cost you more money in the long run, but a home it's still one of the best investments that you can make, so, in many cases, it's worth it, especially for the first year of ownership.
You should shop around, and ask different lenders what kind of programs they have, and if they can help. Try to find a lender that specializes in bad credit mortgages. You can find some bad credit mortgage lenders listed on this page on and off:

Sure. You can probably even do 10% down or 100% financing, but they will get you on the interest rate. It depends on how bad your scores are... |

I'm sure some mortgage brokers will chime in shortly but in my experience if you have 20% or more to put down and your debt-to-income ratio is in fair condition, you can get financing. |

As a former Realtor, I can assure you that mortgage companies don't give a rats patoot about your credit with a 20% or more down payment!! You're a shoo-in! |

You'll need to resolve all questions about your bad credit report with your mortgager. It's up to them and you to take action and it may be up to you to clear up discrepancies with Equifax or whoever furnishes the credit report. You can enhance your chances by proving a positive change in income and financial responsibility if the negative side of your credit was early on in the credit history |

The more money you can put into your down payment, the lower your mortgage payments will be. Some types of loans require 10-20% of the purchase price. That's why many first-time homebuyers turn to HUD's FHA for help. FHA loans require only 3% down - and sometimes less. |

Yes I believe you will. The lenders usually will clear up your credit. Your interest rate will probley be higher. It is not that hard to get into a house. |

Yeah... doubt you even need that much, anyone can get a mortgage, but they will usually go like 80% or so on bad credit, so you would need to put 20% down. You won't have an issue getting a mortgage, you will just be stuck with huge payments from interest for a year until you are in good standing with the bank. |
