I have got damp and mould in my bedrooms my landlord is aware. When I moved in everything was repainted but I have phoned every week with a different problem. There was a blockage in the pipes outside they took up the court yard and found that the pipe was broken and poo from years had beentherre it was not nice.
Even though he has 48 different properties he has not offered me anywhere else there was a refuse bin full of excrement in my court yard for over a month. Please help.

I would write to him giving him 28 days to sort out the issues, or that you will withhold any further rent until the issues are resolved.
He is not conforming to his contract, so why should you?? |

if it private rent council wont want to know your best bet is citizens advice but landlords have to make the place safe for you to live if you can prove that the damp has affected your health you could claim against him it doesnt matter if your rent is late the place should still meet certain levels of comfort |

Go to the Citizens Advice Bureau and seek legal advice. If the place you're living in is unfit then he has a legal obligation to rectify this. if you can't be bothered with the hassle, then find another property to rent |

Your landlord should be repairing all these problems. Sounds like he is pretty crap - if i were you i would move out, there must be loads of landlords with vacant houses in this market |

Report him to the Fair Housing this will surely get his attention! That is unhabitable. He's setting himself up for a lawsuit and fines if he don't repair. If I were you I would send a certified letter through the Post office given him 30 days notice that your moving if he doesn't to fix it or withhold the rents money and fix it your self and send him the bill! |

Here in the US if a property is not safe and healthful that is a violation of the lease. Do you have a clause like that in your lease? Maybe he is the one in violation and you can move due to him not living up to the lease. (It sounds unhealthy.)
