If I have a less then perfect credit score-can I still rent?
I recently had the opportunity to clean up a good portion of my credit file (pay off debts) I sitll have two small things on there (which I'Ve arranged a payment plan for), will I still have difficulty renting an apartment-I've been rejected before because of bad credit-BUT now my credit is much better-just not perfect-What do landords look at? DO i have to have a perfect credit rating?
Landlords are concerned with A) Your credit score and B)Your previous renting history (aka...a good/bad referral from a previous landlord). I'd suggest getting a free online credit report to see what your score is.

Most places will let you in. Unless it is a very high-end complex. We rent to people with a few "spots" on their records. Our units go for $1200.00 a month. We just won't rent to anyone that has an eviction on the report.

If people need a perfect credit score to rent their would be a lot of people sleeping on the street. You should be able to find someone that will rent to you. Buying a house takes excellent credit, and many people can not buy for that reason.

there is always a place for rent.if you want a good quality place give references from previous land lords/friends.even neighbours.

Sometimes it depends on how longa go you cleaned up your record. My credit is not 100% as well...and I cleaned up alot of things as yourself...and My credit advisor let me know that even though it says all the things were paid in full and I have a zero balance some companies want want it to be in good standing for at least 6 months.. Just talk to the rental office about it before you sign anything...and ask questions ..now days there are alot of place illing to work with people.

No. You will probably have to pay a higher deposit. Everyone - even those in your situation - have to live somewhere.
