no..but it could be noted against you on a credit report..just keep paying on time now...and there will be nothing said by the mortgage company

You will pay a late fee. And if you have ever looked at a credit report they show
30 60 90 and so on on late pays. I have never seen a 20 day late on a credit report.

no..you just have to pay the late fee..

No, it normally goes into credit reports after 30 days. I'd just call them and explain your situation, most mortgage companies will work with you if you can pay on a reasonable time period. Best wishes to you!

no just a late fee forclosures take many months up to a year

No, but you will be charged a late fee and your credit report will show that you are a "late payer" and that will damage your credit over time.

Again some poor advise,
All you are going to get stuck with is a nice penalty according to your mortgage agreement. When you become 30 days late NOT even 29 it dose not affect your credit rating. Your payment due on the 1st of JAN, you pay Jan 30 or later then you get a 30 day late. with you waiting another week you are fine.

Beachbumminblonde
No, and it won't show on yoru credit report until you go past your 30 or 31 day of the month.

For example, if your grace period is the 16th and you make your payment on the 31st, you will incure a late fee from your bank. However, you will not be hit with the 1x30. Just make sure that when you're cutting it this close (on the last day) that you confirm the cutoff time for payments to be posted on that day.

It would probably be best to make online payment so you have a confirmation with time and date or moneygram it.

no, not after only 20 days but they will likely start to call you after the grace period because your account will go into collections. I know someone who is 4 months behind and they still haven't started forclosure proceedings yet.

On a personal experience level, I have been there. As of earlier today, I was 2 payments behind. I paid one today and will pay the other in the next coming weeks.

After talking to the mortgage people about my situation, they told me that one of the past 30 day payments was reported but they won't report the second so long as I pay when I said I would. They also told me that they understood my situation and as long as I kept in contact with them then there really shouldn't be any real issues regarding action against me and my house.

The bank does NOT want to own your home. If you find yourself in a real jam, the best thing to do is to keep in touch with the bank and they will likely work something out with you.

I was embarassed to call them which is why I waited so long to, but I feel like such a weight has been lifted after I made that phone call today.

Good Luck. You are not alone.

No, you will be charged a late fee. However, you can call you mortgage company up and explain your financial dilemma, and work something out (have payment deferred). They are usually understanding. That way your are not reported as late, your late fee can be waived and your credit history does not suffer.

Goodluck!
