If a house is known to be haunted, does the value of the house increase or decrease?

Leo F
If a house is known to be haunted it is "stigmatized" most of the time the value may go down. But if a famous person died there it may go up. Depending on the buyer.

If a house is known to be haunted it is "stigmatized" which often decreases its value. But, value is in the eyes of the buyer.

It should decrease the value that way when the wackos move in they'll have enough money left to see a shrink.

More prospected buyers, higher offer. Few prospected buyers, value decreases of course! Seldom and rare are buyers of a haunted house, don't be surprised if they ask half of the orig value

?
value in the eyes of the consumer. so it depends.

It all depends on who the buyer is

The bitter wife
Decrease because a haunted house is harder to sell.

CreoleSista
It would decrease!

maybe decrease a little it depends if everyone knows and people stay away from that property.

Scream!!!
Actually it can depend on the buyer but generally the price would decrease due to the fact it lacks a comfortable living space

RC
If it's haunted by evil spirits then decrease.

If it's haunted by hot bikini-clad women ghosts then increase.
