you should be able to do this if you dont have alot of other bills like credit card, car note etc.
Although there arnt to may places in Memphis that you can get a place for 475 unless your looking to go in Orange Mound or Frazier or Berclair area |

Yes, VERY easily.
A rule of thumb is that your rent should be no more then about 40% of your gross monthly income. 30-35% is ideal.
You are at about 20%. Which is very low. in all honesty you can afford quite a bit more them that. Especially since you dont have much other debt.
Back when I made 30k a year i was living in a 1k a month apartment and still paying the bills relativly easily. |

It should not be a problem but there are other factors that one must consider. Credit Score, rental history, and work history are all major factors. |

In memphis, you should be fine. I live in California and there would be no way I could do it. Everything is expensive out here. (Decent one bedroom apartments run at least 1100.00 a month. Insane, isn't it!) |

yeah, you sure can.... I make about that and I am paying $1000 a month for an apartment plus I got a student loan, car insurance, and car payment an cell phone to pay every month. |

dude I make 30k a year before my commission checks come in and I like in Chicago. I pay out, for rent and utilities and everythign else, about $1200 a month |
