contact the benefits agency and they will pay the extra. he may be acting illegally as they have to charge a fair rent , so speak to them about it. you do have rights, speak to the Citizens advive bureau. |

he has to do it under the terms of the lease...i.e. if its a month to month lease, he has to give you a months notice.
If he does that, there isnt anything you can do. |

When did you sign a lease with him? If your lease hasn't expired, I believe he cant raise the rent till the end of your lease. At least, that is the law where I live. Good Luck. |

If you are on a lease he can't rasie the rent until you renew your lease. By then you should give you month notice and look for a cheaper place |
