If you give notice verbally and not writing in your apartment it works or no?

no, a 30 day written notice is required

a verbal agreement is legally binding, but is usually a case of "he said, she said" and ends up being you word against theirs.

Write a letter, it would stand up in the court of law.

Mom of 3
It could work, but that completely depends on your leasing people. I would strongly suggest you put it in writing and be sure to save a copy for yourself.

NOTHING WORKS VERBALLY IN LAW.

it's better to have it in writing,,,you never know if you'll ever need it for legal purpose,,

A verbal agreement should be binding. BUT there is nothing like a written agreement. If said person or persons have to go court then it is better for the judge to see something in writing.

Every one, I believe, should receive a 30 days notice. A person can be removed by the police if they so do wish. When it comes to money some people can't see past the green. Written, written, written is best....

I wish you the best.

whatever your lease states..you signed it and have to abide by the rules..why is it so hard to write one...they can charge you for a months rent if you move out without giving the correct form of notice..be careful

Each apartment is different. In my apartment I have to give a 60 day written notice and have to also fill out some forms in the office to let them know. It is stated in your lease agreement, if you don't have it with you, you can ask your apartment manager for a copy of one.

it's always better to do everything in writing, keeping records keeps you out of trouble later.

Better safe than sorry, put everything in writing when it relates to money.

It may work depending on on your landlord...But if your landlord takes you to court for any reason...You'll want to have it..Most would like you to give a 30 day notice by sending a letter certified mail...Be safe then sorry..What if they say you didn't..have proof to back it up

NO!! If you signed a rental lease you HAVE TO GIVE THEM 30 DAY'S WRITTEN NOTICE! We learned that the hard way! We bought our first house and when we went to move the landlord was like you never gave me notice...we were stuck! We had to find another family to move in and we were still in it binding for 1 year!! We also had another place we gave no notice to but he wasn't a jerk and he just kept our security deposit. Best to give them notice. It help's you & who know's you made need your old landlord as a reference to get another rental/buy a new home!! Good luck!
