there's no such thing as safely "flipping money" fast without insider information and connections.
I don't subscribe to efficient market hypothesis completely, but it's at least partly true for every commonly found investment vechile available to the average person (you).

I don't think quick is the answer here... the economy is sick, stocks are down, gambling is too risky...
You might think about buying things that you could re-sell and get more money out of them... sometimes people can do it by putting their items on e-bay or CL and make a few hundred here and there.. you know, buy low and sell a little higher. But, the truth is, 5 grand isn't that much money... you may want to sit on it for a little and think things through.... I don't believe in get rich quick, or making money without working for it.. I am just not that lucky... maybe you are, but don't risk it. |

2. Use as a downpayment on the purchase of a lot (land) in a lake/water/oceanfront community.
3. Become a shareholder/stockholder a young entrepreneur business that you believe in.
4. Loan it to someone (get paperwork signed, sealed and delivered) with a high interest (25% +) payback rate. |

I would put it into a high yield interest rate savings account... for example if you open at savings/checkings at washington mutual you can get 4.25% APY.
I wouldnt recommend the stock market right now, its been going down for the last quarter or so and people say it will continue until all this housing slump / recession stuff goes away. |

Investing some of it in stocks. There are also bonds and it is better but they have ur money for a long time (idk how much ask the person) but one thing is for sure. They charge u interest so u get more than waht u gave them. If u wanna be a lucky b'astard, go to a casino and bet everything on one number =) |

when investing money risk and earning just have an inverse relationship. The higher the risk the more money the investment will make and visa versa. Casino, fast money but risky and savings account no risk but slow. I'd do stocks. |
