You don't just get kicked out, they have to take you to court and go through the process first.

If you show the landlord all the paperwork for the replacement money order they might be understanding and agree to wait.

The process is a little different in each state, but generally, as soon as you are late on the rent, the landlord can begin the process of evicting you. That process typically takes quite a bit of time--more than a month in most places. However, you don't want that process to get started, because once it does, it can be irreversible. Even if you pay the rent, you may owe fees and penalties, and your lease may terminate because you are "in default." As other people have said, the best thing to do is talk to your landlord and explain the situation. Your landlord doesn't want to evict you if he can avoid it. If you have been a good tenant, he may be willing to work with you.

You need to talk to the landlord right away.. they may not care and think you are full of it.. but it is your responsiblitie to pay your bills on time..

Latin Techie
If there is a contract they cant do that to you anyway !

Hopefully your landlord will give you a 10 day leeway. I get that with my mortgage. Sorry to hear about what happened. Explain what happened. G/l

You need to go and show the papers to your landlord and talk to them, if you do nothing you will for sure get kicked out and soon too. And they can too do it if you have a contract because you didnt pay when supposed to violates the contract.

May I help You?
Go to your family and friends for help, as they can evict you immediately, and have the sheriff serve you at your door to evict you. It could take 30 days, but I don't know your landlord!!

Call and talk to the landlord, and try telling them the problem.

Different states have a different "grace period" for paying rent and this is most likely detailed in your lease. If you fail to pay your rent on time, you will more likely be charged a late fee until you can pay. It takes a lot of time and effort to evict someone, so they would prefer to avoid that.

Just speak with your landlord about the situation, pay $50 of your rent or something (if they will take partial pmt.) and work out a payment plan.

Depends on what your lease states. I would talk to the property manager and let them know what is going on and give them copies of the money order recipt and any docs about it being stolen.
