If I was unable to ask a friend for a recommendation then I would definitely start with the Yellow Pages or Thomson Local. |

I'd rummage trough the pile of business cards that keep coming through my door.... or ask a neighbour! |

Go to your local trading standards website, the traders here have to abide by a code of practice or they are removed from the site. Or of course a recommendation from someone you know is usually a good alternative, and obviously Yellow Pages but this can be a hit or miss method. |

Go to the yellow pages. You will find plumbers and locksmiths that are available 24 hours a day. You just have to find one that isn't busy. |

For routine stuff i'd be looking in my local papers, local services directory, followed by the yellow pages and directory bit of the phone book - if it was a real emergency i would be getting my yellow pages straight out of the cupboard and chose the most genuine looking advert! |

mate with labour rates, and call out charges, try to do it yourself. the lock can just get the "barrell" changed, and new keys, leaving all the original outer in place, saving lots of£$ and time, and the plunbing, (need more info on the fault, ) ptfe tape it,lol as thats all a plumber will do.
if you try yourself, and totally screw it up, then call them, i believe ist better to try first. |

Yes, it would be the Yellow Pages.
I was a top YP rep for 25 years and I also wrote a book about how to design effective YP ads for less. |
