My fiance makes $450 a week, I make $13 a hour, we're moving when we get married, and we don't know whether to buy a house or rent an apartment. With the market as low as it is, we think we could get a good house for $15-20k. We only plan on living there for maybe 5 years though. I'm going to college 15 hours a semester, but I have scholarships to cover everything. He plans on taking a class or two a semester and paying out of pocket, so there's $260 a class I think. Anyway, we could definitely afford a house in the $15-20k range, but it there was anything wrong (termites, roof leak, faulty wiring, etc.) we would be screwed. However, I figured it up, and over 4 years we'd save $12,000 if we bought a $30,000 as compared to paying $300 a month in rent, and then we could sell the house when we move and have a lot of $ in the bank. But then there's house insurance and utilities. An apartment would be so much easier and less headaches, but I really don't know what we should do. Any suggestions?

Oh, and the only place I might have gained credit is b/c I paid off my car in 3 years and not the 6 years it was supposed to be done in, but my mom cosigned, so I dunno if that helped my credit at all, or just hers.
