You probably can, but you might have to repaint it to its original color before you move out. You should ask the landlord/owner just in case. |

It all depends on the landlord. I would ask him or her if that would be ok. Also, they might stipulate that you can paint it, but you will have to paint it back the way it was before you move out. They may want a deposit just in case you get paint on the carpets or any of the woodwork. Ask them to see. |

Depends on the landlord. My unit is freshly painted whenever a tenant moves out and so when a new one moves in I say no to painting. I do that because paint ends up on carpet, floors, woodwork, hardware, glass and plenty of places it shouldn't. |

you have to make sure it's ok with the owner and I would get it in writing to protect yourself later on. Most landlords who have houses usually don't mind you doing stuff to better the home, but if it's an apartment, you pretty much have to do other stuff besides paint to make it your own. |
