generally for a residential rental you don't pay property taxes or insurance or repairs.

It is more common in commercial leases that you are required to do this.

So check your lease, but it would not be a customary practice.

you don't have to pay taxes on a house you don't own and if the person renting it to you says you do they're try to robb you

no you don't have to pay any taxes.the owner of the house has to pay them.you only have to pay you rent and bills if included.
