My Take on It

Not unless your house is a historic home that you would be renovating back to its original charm. Even then, there has to be money in the program to lend or grant to you.
Otherwise, you would need equity in your home and decent enough credit to get a loan against your house to make repairs.
If that isn't an option, then getting a 2nd job and putting all that money towards repairs is an option. |

I know where you are coming from. Check with your city. A lot of times, as in my case, the city offers loans for home improvement purposes at an interest rate of only 1%!!! it benefits the city to have the homes in the community improved and at an incredible interest rate you cannot find with any other lender. |
