It's small. But if it's just you, it may be just the right size.

It's a little on the small side, but it all depends on your family, and how its been renovated,my friend has 6 people currently living in his moms house thats probably total of 1400sq main floor and finished basementand when I go over there its fine.

Swamy
If 1100 sq. ft is the carpet area, OK. If that is the plinth area, just OK or small.

Depends on how many people will be living there. Some alot 450-500 sf per person. But if its affordable and yo can resell in a few years....go for it!

Lelia
It's rather small. Those bedrooms must be pretty small. But if it's your 1st house then I'm sure you can deal for a few years.

its a lil bit small... not much room for more than 3 people..

Those will be some small rooms...1100 is not tiny, but it isn't exactly living large. 3 bedrooms in that square footage is going to feel pretty small.

Princess Picalilly
30 feet by 40 feet would be 1200 square feet.

Now divide up the rooms - three bedrooms of 12 by 10 feet would take up 360 square feet,
you would have a living room 15 by 15 would be another 185 square feet), so far, 565

at least one bathroom 8 by 10 = 80, 645

and a kitchen 10 by 10, 100.

That so far totals more than 745.

Add a dining room and/or a family room of 10 X 20 would be another 200 = 945

add a bigger master bathroom10 by 10 and you are right at 1045 with halls and closets you are over the 1100.

of course that is using rough estimating.

1100 square feet i actually pretty small. even 1500 is in the "cramped" area.

It depends on your needs.

1100 square feet and 3 bedrooms makes something small, either the common area space or small bedrooms.

For a couple starting out, it could be a very nice size. For a family of 4, it may seem cramped.

But again, it all depends on your needs.

Depends on the floor plan. I have seen 2bdrm 1200 sf that's small and 1200 st 3bdrm that feels big.

The first house I built was 900sf 2bdrm 1bath. (basically my bed room and a office) it was perfect for me paid it off in 4years then was able to sell for almost 2x what i paid for it. What I am trying to say is if this is your first house make sure you can afford it. Sounds like you are doing the right thing and not trying to get in over your head.

Considering the increasing difficulties of young marrieds to begin building equity, it's probably a very attractive starter for the vast majority of two-income couples.

comfortable. should have 2 bathrooms.

The bedrooms will be small, probably 10x10 or so. If it's just you, you might be okay. I personally would feel cramped in that small of a space.

A nice sized 3 bedroom would be 1500 sq ft or more.

It depends on how many people you have in your house. If it's just you, a spouse and perhaps one child then it's a perfect size. Anything more members and then it will become crowded.

Sheyla
not too small. cozy but nice.

size is nice. It is big for small person and small for big person.
I own house of 110 sq. yds. and it is enough / big to clean / maintain.

I wouldn't say small but definitely cozy. And definitely not nice size unless you in Japan. Then it would be a mansion.

Small. The typical three bedroom house (at least around Houston) is 1,500 or more.
