dude, that's not bad...
when i lived in my 1 bdrm apt - it was $450 a month, and i also had to pay my house phone & cell phone, electricity (which is A/C in the southern california desert) and the cable, internet (that i needed), not to mention my own food & my cat's food...
now i live in a 3 bdrm with my wife & 2 kids, our nephew & 2 cats... and we JUST got notice that our rent is going up $225 a month...
trust me... $350 isn't bad at all.... |

Assume that's for room and board. Not too bad, but a little steep. Why not talk to them and ask them if there's something you can do around the house for them to get a reduction in rent? Then DO it. Lawn mowing, yardwork, etc.
You're a little old to still be living at home for free, and should definitely pay them something. |

You think $350 is steep? Did you ever figure out how much you'd have to pay if you moved out into your own apartment? You'd have to pay rent, heat, electric, cable, internet, phone, groceries ... compare that total to what your parents are charging you, and you'll see what a sweet deal you're getting.
You're lucky they're still helping to support you. A lot of parents would have cut you off completely by now. |

When I was 26, I was married, had a mortgage, had student loans and had to pay for electric, phone, food, and everything else.

If they are providing an all inclusive deal (food and laundry privileges) It's a pretty good deal. $350 won't even get a decent apartment much less pay for food and utilities. Look around and check out rental prices and then think if you could get a better deal (even with a room mate) and who would do all the cleaning? |

Yes. Unless they are financially burdened, they shouldn't charge you a dime. I know I won't charge my daughter any $$$ if she chooses to live at home as an adult. |
