It is a buyers market for sure. Just hold on to it. If you decide to sell it right away you won't make any $ on it until the market changes. |

Yes, it's a buyers market and interest rates are very low. |

Im pretty sure this is the best time to buy a house because they are so cheap right now, but it may not be a good time to try and sell. |

That depends on where you want to buy.
In Las Vegas, home prices have dropped, but land prices have been stable and building costs have gone up...so you actually get a better deal buying an existing home.
However, buying a "home"...a place to live... it's not like buying stocks. Part of the value is the enjoyment you get from living there. So...do what makes you feel good as long as it's within your means. |

If you can fund the project and have an extra 10% for incidentals then, YES!
Property/lot values are down as is construction starts so lots of contractors will bid low for the chance at a large project.
Besides if you wait too long then the rising fuel costs will add to the project considerably.
I'm actually even getting some killer rates on my construction loan products right now too!!! |

Its perfect at this time, housing costs have plummeted which have in turn brought down costs of wood, nails, etc. |

Yes, it is a great time to buy a house at this time due to the credit crunch, but it is much harder to be accepted for a mortgage. Bank are scared of bad payers. |

At this time none is good. A lot mortgage foreclosures have occurred because the owners can't neither sell their houses nor have the money for the monthly payment. You better wait until the economic situation gets better. In the meantime you invest your money in short term credit certificates so that within 3 months you can use your money if you need it. |

I guess it is okay. The question should be "Is this the right time to buy land or building a home or should we wait for another time?" |

If your buying land to build, yes, spring time is best. Also, it is possible to find a great deal anytime. Just keep in mind, if your planning on building to sell and make money, make sure you have a definite budget. How much you spend on your home should reflect on the market in your immediate neighborhood. Really pay close attention to the surroundings and talk to realitor about how much other houses in that area go for. It will help you out immensely on deciding which kind of home to build to make the best profit. |
