not unless you like repairing broken windows |

A house with a golf course view would be nice. A house ON a golf course might be a problem. |

yes, i live by a golf course-- and when i wake up in the morning i look out my window and can see either sledders in the winter, or golfers in the spring. I love to see the dark green grass and the fountain.
It is very convenient! You can walk to it if you want to sled or golf or whatever!
Your windows don't usually get broken! |

I like it. And when I got my house appraised the guy actually took a picture of the golf course view because it adds to the value. |

Noooo.
Golf balls everywhere which isn't as pleasant as it sounds, especially when they are inside.
People tramping around all the time.
Don't you just love polite people who replace divots... in your yard because they shot rather than take the drop for being out of bounds? If you do, do you think the smokers who just drop their burning cigs are more polite than the ones who crush the life out of their butts so children can't smoke them?
Windows...
Lastly, let me guess... it's expensive and private, maybe even a gated community? Well, that's great, your possessions and children are safe from everyone because they are guarded. Well, except for the child rapists and burglars who can pay for a tee time... |

I'd take into consideration on where it is on the golf course, if it's behind a tee, or a place where it's very rare to be hit by a ball, go for it. However, I have some friends who live on a golf course and they're thinking of moving because they've had 2 broken windows and many golf balls in their backyard. And they've not lived there for long. But if your in a good position and like the views, go for it! |

Depends if it is a public place or property..if it is your own house on a golf course for only you and your friends then it would be a great idea if you like golf. remember to make room to make one in the hole!! But if it is at a public place, i wouldn't recommend it because they could purposely hit your windows or make a racket outside. good luck, and i hope this helps!! |

If you don't mind fishing gold balls off your lawn, and an occasional dent on your siding. Otherwise, it's okay. |

If you don't mind golf balls flying through your windows... |

Yes: Just make sure that the landscape prevent flying hazards from hitting the house. Broken windows, banging and being klunk as you are leaving or arriving home. |

Sure if you want to have air conditioning year around. Those balls break things. It would be the same, or kind of same, situation as if you lived in the woods during deer hunting season. |

Actually I think it is a very good idea to buy a house on a golf course...FREE GOLF!! and I know someone who lives on a golf course and what they have in their backyard is an almost invisible screen that they put up so people couldn't hit their house as easily...and now there are a lot of golf courses that have subdivisions built around them and the houses are close to the course but not close enough to get hit...so ya its a pretty good idea to buy a house on a golf course and it does cost a lot but its a good investment if you like to golf a lot then you don't have to spend the money to go golfing all the time...have fun! and good luck on your decision |

Well I am sure the place always looks nice, and well maintained, I would also guess that the neighborhood is probably safe and respectable. So I would say as long as the house fits the needs and comfort of you, and your family, then absolutely.
Even if your not a golfer! |

To live there ? Only if you don't mind the pretty view and the occasional golf ball in your living room |

No way, a house near a golf course wouldn't be bad, but I wouldn't want to have to duck balls as I was grilling in my backyard.
If you like to golf, then sure, but otherwise, I wouldnt. If your windows don't get broke, your car will get dented, and so might your wifes head if she's out tanning in the backyard.
Golf courses should have to put up nets like 20 feet tall all around their courses, but those are expensive, so they won't do that. Any measure to keep people playing for free, but they won't pay to protect their neighbors. |

It's fine. i live on a golf course. You get lots of free balls and a pretty scene to look at. Also you can practice your game at night. just make sure there are bigger trees around to protect your windows. before the trees grew at my house we had a broken window. but that only happened once out of the 10+ years we lived there.
Also it adds value to the house. I think our house can go for more then tripple what we bought it for. |

why not, the only problem I can imagine is the errant tee shot that goes through a window. try to be on the tee or the green, everywhere else is high risk, but nice anyway. |

I live at Lake Bernadette Golf Links, FL. I've been there for 4 years. If I could sell - I would. I've had 7 broken windows, that's I've had to pay for out of pocket, golfers peeing on my lawn, golfers walking thru my bushes (that I planted to try to keep them out) - and ultimately breaking the connecting branches, driving their golf carts on our extended lawn that we paid extra for, driving their carts right on our property past our bushes and beyond the sticks of line of demarcation. I've called the owners and the police and the Owners of the golf course could care less...I've spoken to both the husband and the wife and now their son, who I guess is managing - they're all matter of fact about everything...no human concern at all. The son said to me today - if you don't like it - move. The police said I could shoot the golfers if I catch them getting close to my house. Really, WHAT LEGALITIES CAN I TAKE? |
