If you are an Arab, yes
If not, if you are really loaded, yes
If you are not, then, remember, this is an Arab country with different laws, that might change sudddenly
Is the UAE democratic? I think not...
No democracy... not really a safe long term bet for an alien

no,if you got in on the ground when the properties where relatively cheap,u would have doubled your money.today, there are so many buildings going up,which are virtually the same at absurd price, more than london prices for a similar property.I live in the emirates, and dont know anyone who has physically bought any property here.the general consencus is that if you do decide to buy,you should come and visit.the best for rental income is the greens, and to live the green community.the prolification of building,is terrible, and its becoming a concrete jungle, with traffic bad like bombay or cairo.

absolutely

Yes, as I read some business news and the emir or sheik (donno exactly how is called their Governor) develop plans to make Dubai one of the biggest cities in the world and most luxurious, so your property will value a lot after a few years.

I'm no expert but I'd say no. On a visit there we were told that onece you get to retirement age you are forced to leave. If you argue with a local you have 48 hours to pack up and leave the country...not much time to sell your house eh?

If you think Like George bush and honestly believe Global warming is hype go for it as it is the biggest growth area in the word and prices will go up and up.

However if you do believe in the threat of the ice caps melting and seal levels rising by around 30ft Avoid as the majority of the UAE is less than 20ft above seal Level.

Personally I wouldn't live any less than 100ft above mean seal level and 10ft above the nearest flood plane level.

PS. Having seen Greenland temperature profile for the integral core at -0.8 C I am Very convinced within 5 years London and the Netherlands and UAE including Dubai will be under at least 10ft of water!
