i rented an apartment when I was 16. the agent rang my mother and checked with her and also checked my employment to make sure i could pay the rent. |

No, because a 17 year old cannot enter into a lease or contract to rent. You have to be 18. |

If it requires a lease...no.....A minor can't enter a contract legaly. If you can find an apartment with no lease, then yes, if the landlord is okay with it. But be upfront about your age. |

Depends on the landlord. They may or may not since your underage. |

You have to be an adult to enter into a legal contract |

Anything is possible but you may need an older person as a co-signer on the lease. |

no they can not sign contracts |

No. By law, you have to be 18 years old to enter into a contract. A lease is considered a contract. |

maybe you should wait til ur 18.. but it is still possible.. as long as nobody is stopping you.. but renting is not simple.. maybe you should evaluate whether that "good enough job" will provide a REALLY good enough money to pay for all your expenses.. |

no simple |

Here's the forecast for this answer...
70% chance of 'no,'
20% chance of 'yeah right,'
with a 10% chance of 'good luck.' |

only way possible is if you have a co-signer on the lease due to the fact you're a minor. its best if the co-signer has great credit due to the fact that younger folk tend to destroy sh't. i say this because i was in your situation ten years ago. barrell parties plus youth and drugs usually end up in good times and things busted up. good luck. |

i got an apartment at age 16 but you'll need to have a great stable job and a co-signer. |

Anything is possible if you work for it |

Possible, yes. But why?
You would need 1) the ability to enter into a lease (be emancipated) or 2) an adult co-signer. |

Of course. As long as you can prove to afford the payments for a long period, such as a year then its likely for someone of the age to get an apartment.
Some place though might have age restrictions, or require other things which someone 18 or over could only get, not exactly sure of what they are but there are some things to do with property. |

I know a couple of 16 year olds who have their own apartment. I don't think it would be too hard if you have the finances. If not, then you need a co-signer on the lease. |
