Check your rental contract/agreement |

No. That's invasion of privacy. |

I really don't think so. Check through your tenancy agreement and bring it up with them. |

depending on situation, and where you live - yes they can |

Obv.. he dont own ur Stuff.. he ownes the land.. SUE GOD DAMNIT |

definitely NOT. He can come in, usually, to check on the house/apt, and do repairs, but your personal belongings are not for him to touch whatsoever. If he sees something illegal though, he can report it.
Unless he's moving some stuff to access the things he needs to inspect/repair/spray.
He can tell you to clean up too if it's a fire hazard. |

It really depends on your situation and your tenant contract. But, in normal circumstances, most definitely NOT. Talk to him about it, and make sure that he knows that you are NOT okay with that, and it is NOT legal. Make sure that he knows the consequences if he attempts to do it again. |

In California, Landlords are allowed to do a "safety" inspection annually. They need to give you 24 hours notice and don't need your permission to enter your property.
At that point they might also check to see that you don't have a waterbed, make sure you are storing flamable materials (although a waterbed might come in handy in you are) exhaust system are clear and there are no fire hazards. |

no and they legally have to give 24 hour notice to enter the house without a police escort also when you sign a lease that means that is your property until the lease is up or you default on the contract |

I sure don't think so. They have the right to enter the property, but don't think they can look through your things. Google "Landlord rights" and see what you get!! |

If they come into your apartment to look for leaks or inspect electrical outlets, cracks, their appliances, condition of carpets and flooring etc they have the right to do that. But, when they start going through your dresser drawers then you have a problem. |

If your stuff is a danger to the other tenants then yes. if there is a bug/rodent infestation and they need to check to see if they are in your apartment. |

i think under certain circumstances. i think they may have to give 24 or 48 hour notice, but im sure there is a emergency clause, and once they are in there, i'm sure if they see anything "suspicious"... |
|

sissytwo
|
no it isn't. Your landlord isn't even suppose to be in your place without giving you so many days/hours notice and then I believe it has to be an emergency or they couldn't contact for like a broken water/gas pipe. Really emergency. And they definately can't look through you stuff. |
|

It is illegal for a landord to enter your premises unless it is stated in your lease for emergency entry. |

You signed a lease from your landlord I assume? Check it over. Most of the time, no, it isn't, but if it doesn't say so in your lease, it might be argued that it wasn't an invasion of privacy. |

No. Unless you left it in his living area or car or something? |

It is an invasion of your privacy but they have been known to do it. I had a landlord who once opened my apt while we were at work, let himself inside and placed a registered piece of mail addressed to me on my counter. We moved soon after. |

I Don't Know
