BHoFF | Is the real estate licensing exam hard? |

Monkeys can pass the CA licensing exam. |

Depends on your state. I took a moths worth of classes, joined a study group, worked my butt off! I passed with high points, but it was tough. And the Realtors want to make it harder to keep out competition. Final point: If you don't shell out the bucks and take the classes; you'll never pass because the crap they ask on the test has little to nothing to do with buying and selling houses. |

SndChaser hit it on the HEAD!!! The California exam is a complete JOKE. My license allows me to sell real estate and mortgage loans. I focus on loans. My test consisted of 2 YES TWO questions about loans, 10 questions about appraisals, sme about commercial properties and the rest were mainly general about real estate.
It makes me sick to think how many people are selling loans and have NO IDEA what they are doing, what the products really are, what are the ins and outs of the loan process etc...
Study for the test. If your selling properties find a good mentor. If you doing loans find a good mentor and also start reading loan guidelines and any and all promotional items your lenders make available. I have won more loans by telling a client sorry you can not do this or that loan for this reason or that reason to only be told so and so at ABC company promised me it can be done. A week or two later I'm getting a call back with; hey can I still get the loan we discussed? You were right, that product I was promised does not exist or I dont qualify etc, etc... Become a resource for your clients and business associates and you'll do fine!

Not if you study.
But the R.E. market is in for a tumble.
Get ready from some lean years in you're serious. |

no. they give it to you in class usually. they want you to pass. it is selling that is hard. |

I am a relatively new agent in Arizona. As was stated by my some of my predecessors, exam requirements vary from state to state, as the laws concerning real estate vary from state to state.
In Arizona I had to take 90 hours of classes, and pass a 200-question exam before I could take the state exam. The state exam is given in two parts one that is Arizona specific and one that is national. I was one of the lucky ones, in that I passed all three on the first try. But I will tell you this I studied my butt off.
So to answer your question, STUDY. You’ll have no problem.
Good luck! |

No. It really scares me when I see a real estate billboard with a picture on it of some huge loser I went to high school with. Marge Simpson passed the test too. |

Depends on what state you are taking it in, they can sometimes vary from state to state. My sister took it here in Florida where we live and she finally passed it the 4th time she took it. I've been told is relatively difficult but if you pay attention and study you should be alright. You can also retake it if you fail (fees might apply). Hope it helps |

It is very easy. It does take some studying, but they sell these practice tests that are set up just as if you were taking the test.
Although the test itself is not difficult, getting a client base is not as easy as people think. During the time you take your mandatory classes and prepare for the exam, think of how you will get your clients and build a client base. |

Every state has separate test and the difficulty varies. In Florida you are required to go to a certified school and pass there, then apply to state testing facility, fingerprint report required. Not unusually to see 1/2 taking test not pass and have to do it over again.
Personally I think it really has a lot to do with your test taking abilities. If you are use to it you'll be fine, but if it's been a while since you had to do that sort of thing it might be a bit more difficult. |
