Is there any way to get a house from a seller that has already accepted a bid from another buyer?
We were in negotiations to buy a house and the sellers received another offer. They asked for a "highest and best" offer, and we were outbid. Yet, we still want the house and are wondering if there is some way to get it.

If the sellers have already accepted the other offer, then they cannot just dump the offer for no reason. The only thing you can do is wait to see if the other deal falls through, then put in another offer.

In this housing market, why is any one particular house such a big deal? There are tons of houses on the market right now and prices are low, you should have no problem finding something else that you like, and you shouldn't have to get into a bidding war to get it.

Bid higher.

yes.........up your offer.........
don't wait.......once the other offer is accepted
it's over and you lost the home

Harmony-Justice
see how much the house is really worth a bid higher than that. If you absolutly need the house, deperetly, add 200 .
if you just really like it add 100.
if this is perfect and there is no other add 30% of the hghest bet.

CosmicGuardian
Unfortunately when it's concerning a house the owners have the final say. But don't despair; maybe the other offer won't go through and you'll still get the house.
Otherwise you may have to find another house.

Maris
Not unless the loan approval for the other buyers falls through.

put in a higher bid

Incognito
Yea, bid more. If the buyer bidded 100k $ you should bid 110k $. Do you get it?

Chuck P
Come back with a higher bid, you would then be the highest bidder and therefore fulfilling what they are asking for.

u should contact with a property dealer and after getting house u should do a aggrement from owner than u get best house.

Expert Realtor
Nope..once an offer has been formally accepted, the negotiation part is over.

So even if you were willing to increase your offer, the sellers cannot accept your offer without getting sued by the buyers who's offer they have already accepted.

When you were told to make your "highest and best" offer...that is EXACTLY what that meant.

You didn't...and you lost.

It sucks...but it happens. Just watch the listing and have your Realtor to follow up with the buyer's financing and as soon as there may be troubles in the transaction, you may still get your house.
