if you are talking about the united states, i'd say, it is a good
time to buy a house, as prices have dropped a lot.
but you should not buy if your own financial situation is not
absolutely secure. there is no point in buying a house, when
there is a risk that you might lose your job or similar
dangers. also, be very careful in case you need to get
a mortgage - scoundrels are waiting for victims behind every
corner!

well, It may even be better right now on building your own house. Try to find a good state, one with low or no taxes(NOT MAINE) and buy your timber and everything you need in that state. In the long run it will be much cheaper to just build it yourself now because of the econamy and the war, and its only going to get worse

It is always a good time to buy over renting. Interest rates are great. I can find you a great realtor if you decide to buy. Your Realtor is the key to buying a good deal.

NO. IT IS NOT.

Home prices are going to go down a whole lot more.

Lorenzo while we can and will give you our opinions, it's best if you consider your financial situation, talk with several lenders to see if their programs will work for you. Anytime is a good time to buy a house. What you want to watch for now is declining values in the area where you find a home. No sense buying something that is worth less once you close. But the choice really has to be yours. This is a tough market depending on which side of the fence you are standing. Or a great market again depending on which side you are standing.

Prices are down.

Interest rates are down.

But -- The question most people are asked is: "Do you have a job that you are sure you will still have after you buy the house"?

I am a professional residential contractor that specializes in remodeling, now saying that I live in the south east of the US,Nashville TN to be exact, and the economy has hit here as hard as anywhere but if you have great credit or a good amount to put down this is a great time to buy a house.I have been snatching foreclosures of the market left and right and just stock piling them at the time. The interest is very low and if you are looking to keep it for quite some time definitely get locked in on your interest rate and in 5 or so years you will have a fortune in equity in your new property.

As of Wednesday, interest rates were lower than they'd been in a while. If you can afford to buy then I'd jump on it. Don't go to a broker!

If you have the money for down and more importantly to sustain yourself considering the economy; go ahead.

Um, buy. Where have you been??

Not knowing if your 16 or 60 I'd say that your personal situation has no effect on the housing market. If you feel comfortable, then this is the MOST opportune time to buy. I am a short sale investor and I have purchased properties valuing, as an exapmle, 200K for no more than 70K.

and what's with the link? I hope you're not trying to solicit
insurance.
